Norfolk Completed Look up Requests / Re: Help finding my 3xgt grandmother please.

Thanks candrjm.  I had found that marriage because I was convinced all along that they were probably her parents but I just couldn't connect them.  Hopefully now I'll be able to go back further.
Many thanks again.

Whooooo!!   You absolute star!! :-* I must have looked at that but I was concentrating on the surnames, looking for Wooton,  and not reading all the info with them.
A million thanks and more.

Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help. My gt x 3 grandmother Susannah WOOTON/WOTTON is recorded on three census as saying she was born in Wells next to the Sea in Norfolk, although on one she said she was born in Lynn

She gives conflicting dates for her birth but basically it is somewhere between 1800 and 1811.  I have searched the familysearch site who have original Norfolk Parish Records online, including St Nicholas, Wells, although not indexed, so I had to go through the books a page at a time. :o

I did find a John Wotton b 1810 and a James Wotton b 1811, to William Wotton and Susanna Gathercole, but failed to find any sign of Susannah.
These names would fit as there is an elderly William Wooton living near Susanna in Cambridge in the 41 and 51 census and I have found the death of both William and wife Susan in Cambridge.
I also have both Susannah's marriages to Robert Shortland and then William Miller, together with all her children.
So all I am missing is Susannah's birth.  Without it I have no proof of her parents and can therefore go no further back. Any help much appreciated.

Gosh you've both been busy.  What stars you are! :-* I'm tearing my hair out right now cos last night I found an Ann Green born in Chevington, which is where Sarah's brother George W was born, so I thought BINGO.  It was late and I didn't stop to note it and now it's not there!  Whoosh into thin air. LOL Keeping at it. I will not be beaten!! ;)
Thanks to you both.

Many thanks Kesia. I had all the information you have provided BUT hadn't connected the names of her children with her mother and sisters.  Senior moment there...that's my story etc. ;)
As you say, I think I can now be as certain as is possible, that this IS my Sarah Elizabeth.
Many thanks again.  On to mother Ann Green now.....

Many thanks diddy.  Yes I think it's likely too, especially as I found a full listing on here of people who were BMD in Cockfield in the 1800s and there is NO Kemps on it.  I do wonder why she was so adament that was where she was from though. :-\
Yes she had 6 children, 3 born in Bury St Edmunds..Sarah Elizabeth 1828, John George 1830 and Mary Anne 1833.  The family then moved to Cambridge and I have all the census returns from then on, so it is going backwards that is now my aim.
If the Cavendish listing is right her mother was Ann Green and I come to a halt once again as there are Ann Greens born in villages all around the area. Hey ho..You win some, you lose some. Lol

Suffolk / Sarah Elizabeth KEMP

Hi.  I'm trying to find a birth date, and parents for my 3 x gt grandmother Sarah Elizabeth KEMP.  On the 51 and 61 census she states she was born in Cockfield, Suffolk but I can find no trace on Familysearch.  I know she married John VINCENT on 24 Feb 1827 in St James Church, Bury St Edmunds, and her DOB according to the ages on the census is around 1805.
I found a Sarah Elizabeth of the right age born in Cavendish, Suffolk, but she definitely stated Cockfield.
Also searching for the same information about her husband....John VINCENT b. around 1805 in Bury St Edmunds.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Channel Islands Lookup Requests / Henry Alexander Thomas SMITH
« on: Monday 20 June 11 15:29 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for the death of my 2 x gt grandfather, who was born and married in India but then left his family and went to live in Jersey, where he bought a hotel.  I have family records that he died in 1919 but obviously cannot be certain of this.
I have traced his life in India and he used two different names... Henry Alexander Thomas Smith and also Henry deCoursey Smith.
Any help would be most appreciated.
