« on: Sunday 08 May 05 18:36 BST (UK)  »
Hi. Is there anybody out there with any knowledge of the Bruske Family from Whitechapel. I believe that they are the birth family of my dad (1919 - 1995) and I reckon that I can prove the link.
Thanks in advance

Cumberland / Joe Telford - Whitehaven

I would be interested in any contact with the family of joseph Telford from Whitehaven. Joe fell in the service of King & Empire for the cause of Freedom on 1st July 1916 (Somme). Joseph was married to the cousin of my wife's grandmother and he died without seeing his daughter. They lived at No2 Basket house in Whitehaven

Hi Otto, Many thanks for that. Sadly he is not my John Charters. HE was a retired soldier who was a hard drinker and was born in about 1853 died in 1927
Thanks anyway. I would have liked to tie the mill owner into my family

Hi Anthony, I have david Charters on the Covenant. I also have his WW1 service records which show that he was discharged after a couple of weeks because of bad eyes. I have trouble with his mum & dad but yes I would greatly appreciate your offer. Would you also be able to give me McGraths in Belgrave street for 1896 and Sloan for Malvern street in 1896.
Sarah charters was born in glenwood street in 1896.
Thanks

I am informed that my John charters was a soldier for 19 years and  was a fearsome drinker. I think that his first child was born c1888 (John) , then followed David, Margaret and my granny Sarah in 1895
