I would really appreciate any help in finding out more information about my gg Moran grandparents in, I think, the Clyde area of Glasgow.
I have Thomas Moran born c.1812 who died in 1859, age 47, in Clyde. He was the son of Denis Moran and Bridget xx. My gg grandmother was Bridget Nicholson who was born c.1829 and died in 1867, age 38, in Clyde. She was the daughter of Peter Nicholson and Catherine Fitzpatrick.
They had at least 3 sons, James born c.1854 (my g grandfather), Thomas born in 1856 in Clyde and Denis who registered his mother's death in 1867.
James and Thomas were born in Glasgow. Thomas in Clyde from his birth cert, James from his 1871 census entry is living alone and shown as born in Glasgow.
Bridget remarried Peter Murphy in Clyde in 1862 before dying in 1867 (as a result of pregnancy/childbirth, I think).
I am trying to find out firstly, were Thomas and Bridget from Scotland or Ireland originally. Also, did they have any more children other than their three boys. I am hoping the 1851/61 censuses might shed some light on this. I haven't been able to find any more info from any other sources.
