Family History Beginners Board / TRENAWYN family, Gwinear
« on: Thursday 12 October 23 15:23 BST (UK)  »
Hello
I am interested in the Trenawyn family from Gwinear, my ancestor was Sydwell Trenawyn cr 20 march 1600 at Gwinear, daughter of Jo Trenawyn, she married William Carnsewe in 1629 at Gwinear.
Trying to trace her parents and siblings, there appear to be 8 children born between 1584 and 1603 but fathers are either Jo or Wm, the records are confusing, giving the father to some children either jo or wm, there is a William Trenwyn who marries Catheren in 1584 at Gwinear, cant find any John getting married in the same timeframe. have any of you come across this surname.

They may not have the time to search, but they could at least reply and say that, manners cost nothing. i have to say i expected a response from the Embassy, but they are as bad. out of all archives i have contacted over the years, this is the worst. i am affraid we may never find what we are looking for.

Good luck with that one, trying to contact the National Archives, i have tried contacting them numerous times over the last years still waiting on a reply, even tried the Embassie's as well in UK and Zimbabwe they were as reluctant to respond to emails.
Any one with ancestors in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, give up its a hopeless cause.

These Dempsters, Robert Dempster and Jean Wilson are my 4x great grandparents, their children were all born in Dalry, Kirkudbright , have any of you found deaths for them, Jean must have been after 1811 at the earliest.

Hello Norma

Thank you so much for that, that William is the one i was hoping for, i could make out tenant and Birgham, but no birth or death. they were a very unlucky family Elizabeth was only 24 when she died and daughter Mary only 16 followed by William a few years later, of consumption.

Thank you, greatly appreciated.

Hello.... thank you for your reply and all that information, its a great point about Roger, he could well be named after his grandfather, my Scottish ancestors followed that naming process for generations and has been very helpful and useful when stuck.

Greatly appreciate your help.
