Cavan / Henthorn.

Researching Henthorn family from the Drung area.
George Henthorn married Rebecca Henthorn ( same surname ) 15th Nov 1796. He was from Drumbane and she was from Gorsky. They had several children:-
James 29th Dec 1798, George 29th Dec 1800, Ann 23rd Jan 1803 ( she died young ), Rebecca 15th Jul 1804, Mary 28th Sept 1806, Ann 7th Nov 1813 and Elizabeth 3 Feb 1816.
Besides Ann 7/11/1813 who went on to marry a Henry Smith ( Smyth) I have not had much luck finding out what happened to her siblings. I believe that there is a George Henthorn - Drumbane mentioned in the book of tithes but do not know as yet if that is her brother or another branch of Henthorn's.
In the Griffiths Valuation there is an Isaac Henthorn - Drumrane. ( He was also mentioned in the book of tithes.)
Is anyone else researching this family? or another branch of Henthorn's?

Cavan / REA / RAY / WRAY.

Researching Rea family. ( Does n't help with the changes of spelling )

Thomas Rea in the 1911 census married to Margaret. They lived at Greaghnamale nr Bailieboro. Thomas' brother John lived with them in 1901 census.
Their father was Thomas Ray and their mother was Anne Flynn. I believe that they lived in the Ryefield area nr Virginia. Their children were Margaret Ray born 1856, James Ray born 10th Feb 1872 ( known as John James), Thomas Ray born 1st Nov 1867 and William Ray born 1874. It's possible that there were others. These are recorded at Castleharan RC.

I have found a record of a church baptism for Thomas Rea 1820 Cavan but do not know, as yet, if that is the Thomas who married Anne Flynn.

Cavan / Re: William Robert Thompson

In our family history we have a William Thompson who had a son Daniel. Daniel married Eliza Moore 25.2.1860  at the C of I church in  Killinkere Cavan. When Daniel got married his father was deceased. Daniel came from Enniskeen and Eliza from Coolnacola. They had several children one who was William Thompson born 1st July 1871 Bailieboro Cavan. I believe there is a connection to the Thompson's of Cornasaus Eniskeen in the 1901 / 1911 Census.

Limerick / Patrick Winters Limerick City
« on: Thursday 01 August 13 20:15 BST (UK)  »
I'm researching the Winters family from Dublin and my great great grandfather Patrick was born about 1860 in Limerick City.
I have been led to believe by family that the Limerick ancestors were landowners and involved in bacon curing. I have really struggled to find any leads etc. However recently I came across a birth record for a Parick Winters - father Thomas- St Michaels RC  church Limerick City 1858 and wondered if this might be him. Is anyone researching the same family or does anyone have any suggestions etc.
Thanks

Cavan / Waller Killinkere.
« on: Thursday 01 August 13 18:30 BST (UK)  »
Looking for any information regarding the Waller family from Killinkere.
James Waller married Jane Nelson and had a son Robert Waller born around 1849. It's possible that Robert had a brother Joseph. The family farm was at Carricknaveagh. Robert Waller went over to Scotland in the 1880's and was back in Cavan by 1890.

I have struggled to find a marriage record for James and Jane.
