Occupation Interests / Re: Mechanical Labourer (Exm maker)
« on: Thursday 29 September 05 15:55 BST (UK)  »
Hi David

It isn't Exm maker - its E+M maker

On the previous page a neighbour is a Pattern maker  Eng Works(Eng + mach maker) presumably 'engine and machine maker'
Kind of the enumerator to use a longer abbreviation here.

Its likely then that E P Baskin is the Eng Works mentioned above

Hope this helps

Hi David

Sorry if I've got your hopes up as I really don't know what Exm maker could mean ???  but I wondered if there might be any clues to be had from the occupations of people living around him.

Maybe if you posted his name and 1881 details we could have a look

Northumberland / Raylees/Monkridge baps. 1866 lookup please
« on: Monday 26 September 05 19:51 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Does anyone have access to parish records for Raylees Monkridge for 1866?

If so could you please look up a baptism of Thomas (John?)HARRISON  born 25th February 1866 - the son of Ann Harrison.

I have the birth certificate but sometimes there is just a little more information in the parish record, maybe some hint as to where they were actually living or Ann's occupation - something that might help me track Ann down.

I know I'm clutching at straws but it's worth a shot :-\

Thanks for looking

Susan

Couldn't help myself  :-\ Looked up Lucy Addy too!

She married John Foley Ethell at St Simon Leeds in 1901

Since they appeared together on the 1901 cencus they must have married in the early part of the year.

Completed Census Requests / Re: Ryhope Look up required 1901 (solved)

Hi Isobel
There are 4 Redvers Robinsons born in County Durham around this time (only one Redvers B..) so it is probably a family name - a surname from an earlier generation perhaps.

Alan Redvers Robinson b. Sep 1900 Darlington
Gordon Redvers Robinson b. Dec 1899 Easington
Redvers Robinson b.June 1900 Stockton

and your Redvers Baden

Thought I'd send them - they may turn out to be related! ;)
