Not sure about the legalities of it all but I really enjoyed reading all your postings!

When I first started out on this geneaology adventure my mum asked me to find something out for her.

She had the notion that her grandfather had married his wife's sister.

It turned out that he had indeed married Mary Jane in 1874 and later married her sister Martha in 1911.

Mary is presumed dead but as yet I haven't found her on BMD!

Hi,

I wonder if that is further back from my research.

I recently traced back to William Chapple born about 1768 in South Molton. He married Mary Davy born about 1770 on 23rd Sept 1793 also South Molton. I think he would be my g g g g g grandfather.

It probably is the one I am looking for as ages are sometimes approximated aren't they.

Yes brilliant link. I haven't found any of my ancestors but I did find the family of someone from Hawes who was lodging with my g g g g grandmother!

Hi Dave,

No you don't owe me anything, I was glad to do it - it has given me the opportunity to learn how to look up stuff in the Archives. So far my research has been done by following a couple of names and dates from my grandma before she died and questioning my mum since! Everything else I have done on the internet.

A couple of people on this site have done lookups for me so I am pleased to be able to do it for someone else.

It's a shame there was not any more information for you from the records.
Let me kow if you get any more leads you want me to chase up.
