The descendents of some of these siblings still live in Merionethshire today,  but unfortunatley I am not in touch.

Hello List,

I have numorous ancestors in and around Merionethsire and I have decided to start on the Gentlman above.

He was married to an Ellin Roberts born 1730, their marriage date was 23 10 1748 at Llanfihangel Y Traethau.

They had at least three children,

William Humphrey my ancestor born 1754 at Cefn Trefor Bach Llanfihangel Y Traethau.
Robert Humphrey 1749 at the same place
Catherine Humphrey  1756 probably at the same place.

Humphrey died at Llanfihangel Y Traethau  but I do not have the date, apparently Ellin died in  1783 no place is mentioned.

If anyone can help me out I will be so gratefull.  Thank you in advance.

Devon / Highbray Parish Church, All Saints
« on: Friday 06 July 07 23:39 BST (UK)  »
Hello Everyone,  Can I please be cheeky and ask if someone can do me a big massive favor,  I have ancestors buried in the Church above and if possible if anyone is visiting this church could you please take some photos of the headstones for me please.

Below is what was given to me by the North Devon Record office.

We established that both Jacob and Maria Thorne were buried in the parish churchyard of High Bray. Fortunately, we have a graveyard location plan for this parish, which tells me that there are two headstones for them a short distance from the north east corner of the church.   Unfortunately, we have no information on the wording of these headstones.

I will be so grateful for any help given.

Thank you very much.

Pembrokeshire / 9th Brigade R A in Pembrokeshire
« on: Wednesday 23 May 07 15:16 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

Can anybody help me with this please,  I have found a possible husband for my ancestor,  I have a William Barnes married to an Ellen Roberts of Pembroke in 1874, William was born in Hamshire, Isle of Wight in 1851 and was a Soldier in the 9th Brigade R A in 1881 in Kent,  can anybody tell me if this regiment was stationed in Pembroke at all,  I know Ellen's father James Roberts was a Soldier and was stationed in Hamshire on the Isle of Wight in 1851 and I am trying to peice together if there is a possibility that maybe James knew the father of William  and thats how they got together or did William & Ellen meet because he was stationed in Pembroke.

Any advice or information would be a great help.        Thank you very much.

Pembrokeshire / The Conservative Club, Pembroke or Pembroke Dock
« on: Thursday 04 January 07 19:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hello and a Happy New Year everyone.

Do anybody know or have information regarding the above address,  I don't know if it was in Pembroke or in Pembroke Dock, my ancestors John Edward Roberts and his wife Eugenie with their son Arthur Bernard Roberts apparently either stayed there or ran it after returning from living in London, which would be after the year 1901 up until 1916 or abouts,  are there any records held for this place, is this place still standing today and if so where exactly was it  ?

Any help offered will be gratefully received.  Thank you.

The Common Room / I have an ancestor but....
« on: Saturday 16 December 06 17:28 GMT (UK)  »
I don't know where he comes from, its a bit of a mystery.  On his marriage certificate 28 Sept 1907, Bedwellty, Monmouthshire it states that he was  age 26 & a  Bachelor, and that he was a Collery Repairer, his name was Robert Henry Maiden and was living with his in-laws to be at 44 Church Street, Aberbargoed.  His fathers name was Arthur Maiden but was deceased at the time of marriage, his profession was a Coal Miner.

I can not find Robert or his family in the 1901 census anywhere, but in the 1891 & 1881 census I did find a family by the name of Maden,  1st in 1881 there is a family living at Leicester, it states that Robert Maden with a father by the same name of Arthur and a mother of Elizabeth  was about  1879, my ancestor  was born about 1881, then in 1891 the family then moved to Coity, Bridgend, Wales. their last name hadchanged to Maiden and the father Arthur had died, one or two of the children are no longer living with the family.

My ancestor Robert moved from Monmouthshire to Penrhiwceiber with his wife,  there is an Elizabeth ( his mother ) lving quite near in Abercynon who married a Patrick Clark in Bridgend 1893,  I think because I can't find anything else that these could be my family but do you think I can find any of their birth dates ? no, can anybody help me please,if not can anybody try and explain to me why a family are not down on the birth registers.  Thank you in advance for any help given.  thank you.
