Merionethshire Lookup Requests / Maentwrog Burials/ St Twrogs Church GRIFFITH/S
« on: Tuesday 29 March 16 08:33 BST (UK)  »
Hoping someone can assist.  I  require assistance with locating a 'unknown' child of Richard and Mary Griffiths.  Richard died 1906 and Mary 1937 and are buried together in the churchyard.

Their son was possibly born/died between 1876 and 1901 as he did not appear in any census.

One possibility I have is a child named Robert John Griffith 1891-1898, there are no family members listed for his burial and I was hoping is a headstone existed, it could rule him in/out.

Does anyone know if a list of all headstone transcriptions exist?

Many thanks in advance

I am looking for information on the Humphreys family consisting of Anne (husband unknown at this stage) daughters Mary Elizabeth c1909 Clwtybont, Annie Phyllis b1909 Maentwrog  and Sarah b1910 Maentwrog. This information sought from 1911 census - they resided at Penlan in Maentwrog in 1911.

Anne Humphreys nee Griffiths was the daughter of Richard Griffiths and Mary Evans both residents of Maentwrog and died 1906 and 1937 concurrently in Maentwrog.  This family resideded at Pant Glas in Maentwrog.

Richard and Mary Griffiths had 9 children, Jane, Margaret, William, Lizzie, John, Anne, Richard, Mary and Sarah.

Any information on any of the above people would be most grateful.

Many thanks,

« on: Monday 24 March 08 22:15 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find more information, in particular parents for the following person and his descendants from Tandragee and/or Cargans and was hoping to make contact with somewho from the area who may be able to assist with Cemetery Lookups etc.

My interests:

William Bennett born circa 1793 died 1877 married Anne Rennie born circa 1810 and they children:

Johnathon Bennett born circa 1814 (died Australia)
George Bennett born cica 1818 (died Australia)
William Bennett born circa 1821 (died Australia)
Robert Bennett born circa 1827 died 26 June 1912 Tandragee married Elizabeth Anne Redpath 1847: had one child: Robert Bennett born circa 1848 married in Australia.

I believe that this particular family was Catholic.

Any information on the Bennett family in Tandragee would be most helpful, as I know a number of other people looking for Bennetts in Tandragee and thus far we cannot make a connection; (Robert Bennett married Jane Guy with children Mary born c1833 and Elizabeth born c1847)
Many thanks in advance,

Paula

From the few websites with directory's that I have found, they list only two or three Bennett's in that area which may or may not match.

Many thanks in advance,

Paula

Clare / Dromoland / Kilnasoolagh REYNOLDS
« on: Monday 10 April 06 04:55 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to locate information on an early ancestor.

STEPHEN REYNOLDS.

His headstone states that he is native to Dromoland which is in Kilnasoolagh.  He came to Australia in late 1855.

In the 1855 Griffith's Valuation there is a Stephen Reynolds in Rathfolan which is also in Kilnasoolagh.

Is there any more information that one can get on the Griffith's Valuation and does anyone do lookups for Kilnasoolagh Parish Records which may list a birth for my Stephen c1805.  His father's name is Patrick Reynolds.

Many thanks,

Paula

Lancashire Completed Lookup Requests / Liverpool Worhouse 1891 census
« on: Tuesday 06 December 05 20:13 GMT (UK)  »
Hello all -

I recently discovered an ancestor in the 1891 census.

WILLIAM BUCHANAN was an inmate in the 1891 census - he was born in Kerry, Ireland c1828.

Can anyone advise how I can obtain information on his stay at the workhouse (I have already spoken to Central Library Record Office and they suggest a researcher).

Many thanks,
Paula

Norfolk / Norman's of Hempton / Thomson's of Colkirk
« on: Friday 02 December 05 05:56 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone - with the help of Norfolk Heritage Centre I have just found early ancestors linked to Norfolk.

Easter/Esther Thomson (born 30 Mar 1782 Colkirk to Elizabeth and her husband (?) Thomson)married John Norman c1871 possibly from Hempton.

Their children:
Caroline c1821
Robert c1825
Ann c1827
Thomas c1811 - married Mary Ann (?) c1809 Norwich
These children I believe were all born in Hempton where the family lived.

Thomas and Mary had the following children:
Thomas 17 Jan 1830
Pleasance Anna 27 Jan 1832 (who may have died at a young age)
John Henry Norman 25 October 1834 who married Elizabeth Nicholson from Fareham
William 03 April 40 who married Clare Ryall
Mary A c1842
Pleasant L c1847 Spitalfields, London

Most of this information I obtained through all of the census' and the heritage centre.

If anyone out there is looking at the same family - would love to hear from you.  Otherwise if anyone has links to Hempton area who can shed some light on this family would also be most grateful.
