Welcome to RootsChat  :D

Perhaps you could provide names and birth places/years otherwise it will be difficult to assist you.  What time frame are you interested in?  19th century, 20th century?

The most common information available are births/christenings, marriages, death/burial and census records.  Many other records available as well.

Please note that RootsChat does not research living people as their names cannot be displayed.

Have you made any attempt to find either of the Helens in the 1939 Register?  You give no indication as to where both Helens were born.

It looks like Mosen or Mosin to me or maybe Masen perhaps.  You would have to try and find out who was around at the relevant time as a speaker.

Further to Pinetree's mention, the marriage took place on 29th January 1893 and the witnesses appear to be Richard Adams and Laura Hewson.

It's one of those Latin ones.  No father's mentioned, just the bride and grooms names and the witnesses.  Full details will be on the marriage certificate from the GRO.

This may be Emily with her parents and siblings in 1891.

Living at 9, Normanby Street, Sunderland, Durham

Parents Samuel and Elizabeth and eight siblings.  Samuel's occupation is dock crane man.

Emily's birth:-

COOPER, EMILY       PEACOCK
GRO Reference: 1883  J Quarter in SUNDERLAND  Volume 10A  Page 703

This is just a possibility.  As has been said, obtaining Emily's marriage certificate would give her father's name and therefore confirm if the above is correct.

I did wonder if it was a turntable/tracks as well Andrew.

Certainly something on which large containers could be moved from inside to outside.

Unfortunate that it is not a clear and well focused photo.  Difficult to date it as well.

Welcome to RootsChat  :D

Why the assumption that it is in Glasgow?  What is your connection to the photograph?

I brightened the photo considerably and there appears to be rolls? of something, possibly in containers in the background.

Unfortunate that the white coloured board on the left is totally unreadable.

Welcome to RootsChat  :D

I'm putting this for information only.  I cannot be sure if this is the correct William.

Baptised on 19th April 1756 at Dinton, Wiltshire.  Parents are William and Elizabeth.  This is from a transcript only.

As William was convicted in New Sarum (Salisbury) this looks to be a good possibility.  Distance between Salisbury and Dinton is 8 miles.

Have you considered getting his death certificate?  Am I right in thinking that parents are named on Australian death certificates?
