I  am trying to locate the marriage of Ellen/Elleanor Taylor to a thomas nightingale maybe in the lancashire area.  I have looked at all the marriages from 1865 to 1891 when thomas died.

I did however find a references from 1870 march quarter ref 8d 279 MANCHESTER this has puzzled me as there were only three entries returned.

They were

Mary Foster
Thomas Gleeson
ELLEN TAYLOR

Where is the other male.

This is also the same on free BMD and Ancestry is this normal as is doesn't make sense to me or have am i missing something? Have i done all the research wrong.?

Has anyone any ideas why this is?

Hi All who have helped me before!!

I have posted a few other topics on the same man how illusive he is proving.

But Determined as ever i took a trip up to my fathers dank and dismal attic and after a few hours i found a box in the box i found a baptism certificate(original)

In a very poor state it reads...

James Smyth was baptised according to the rites of the holy catholic church in the parish of stamullen on the 2 february 1868 parents Patrick Smyth and Catherin Boues Or Bones cant read as the cert is very old .sponsers  are (it looks like Teresa Smyth!

It looks like it says St patricks Church Stamullen.

Parish Priest (Looks Like) Connor.

The questions i have now are where is Stamullen in relation to scotch Hall  drogheda(as this is where his daughter was Born)

Does the name Boues or bones appear alot in these areas?

I will try and post an attachment of the cert but am not sure of how to do it

He was wounded and taken prisoner at the battle of Ypres bnt, owing to his injuries was exchanged in september of 1916. He was discharged as medically unfit in october of that year and holds the Mons Star and the general service and victory medals, 12 Caygill St.    Z3159
Does any one know what the Z3159 is?
On his marriage cert it sates he has an army pension.
