Great!  that certainly is a gem of a website.  Will take a bit of time to troll throug with my dial-up link but I'm sure it will be worth the effort in the end.

Thanks again

Thanks again I had forgotten about the 5 year round up.

Whereabouts of William are unknown after 1841.  The IGI (for what its worth) also has an ELizabeth b. 03 Jan 1844, daughter of William and Mary.

The next time John surfaces is upstream in Stepney when he marries my Gt. Grandmother 6 March 1878. He/they were living at 20 Grosvenor St at that time.  They appear on the 1881 Census 1881 (RG11 0502173 pg 17) at 23 Glencoe Street.

I'm looking for the family of a John William Farmer, a Carman and his wife Eliza (Pulsford) John and Eliza were married in Limehouse, June 1837. Their son William John, was born 1844. They may have other children living with them. At the time of William John's birth the family is was living at No 1 Conants Place, Back Churchlane Whitechapel. Could anyone locate this family in the 1841 or 1851 census? I am particularly interested in the places of birth for John and Elisa.

Thanks

John

I've recently signed on as OPC for Antony.  I recognize the Wheeler name from my various transciption exercises.  I'll have a closer look John et al for you.  I have microfiche copies of the parish registers but unfortunately they are of very poor quality.  Not necessarily a fault of the CRO (although I think their copying technique could be updated) but more so a case of the vicar watering down his ink!

As OPC for Antony I would be interested in any records, transcripts or old photo's of the area we could include on our website  (going live sometime this week - I hope).

Cheers
