  I am helping myself here :) ... On An***ry I have found a baptism .. that I think is hers ...........
'Hungary Select Catholic Church Records 1636 - 1895' ....." Gizella Giesz.. baptism Aug 1 1887 at: Lengyel Tolna Hungary .. father: Thomas Giesz .. mother: Elisabeth Herger"
The actual reading of the original .. although headings are in Hungarian .. appears to read
"July 31/Aug1 1887 Gizella dau of: Giesz Thomas & Herger Elisabeth" (my translation)

Trying to find out more about Louis Marath of Hogyesz Hungary .. he married Gizella Giesz likely at Lengyel (Tolna County) Hungary (1904 - 05)(but maybe married in States) they came to the USA in 1906 .. living around Pittsburgh Pennsylvania USA. They always gave nationality as German in the US census .. but I think that's because they spoke German .. though born in Hungary (or the old Austrian Hungarian Empire). In the USA 1930 census Lousis is down as 46 yrs old .. and Gizella 42

That is interesting .. I am trying to find out more about a man who came to the USA in 1906 ... with what records I do have saying he was : 'born/from' a German speaking area (my figuring) in Austia Hungary ... or just Hungary. I also have two possible town names ... that are either hard to read ... or can't be found on a modern day map (in the old pre 1917 Austria-Hungary empire area)

My gg was James Douglas (or Douglass) said to have come to Quebec Canada as a boy.. around 1 year old in 1839. ... I can find baptisms for other older brothers .. but not James. His tomb stone in Alvinston Ontario  says born 15 Apr 1838 (although 1911 Ontario census said 1839. His parents were a William Douglas (born 1798) and Helen Patterson (born 1803 Northumberland England) James's obit in the Alvinston Ontario newspaper said born in Inverness ... plus stories handed down in the family has them on Isle of Skye? Brothers Anthony/ Oliver found baptised Farr Sutherland.

I was in a shop in Strathroy Ontario Canada .. and bought a Tapestry in a frame (country cottage / lane & flowers) pretty picture. On the back was wrote that it was done by an Eileen Joyce Wilkinson of Allington Road Halesworth Suffolk England. Her sister in Mount Brydges Ontatio Canada was the owner (last name Scott). I was just wondering about the history of this pretty picture .. dated 1989
