Has anybody used this site ... and did it help you?
William Stephenson - born 1814 at Doncaster West Yorkshire - married Mary Scott at Cottingham East Yorkshire (Hull) in 1838. Williams parents I believe were another Wm Stephenson and an Alice Carter - married Cantley Parish W Yorks (Doncaster) in 1811..... Other east riding names are Nicholls (Bridlington, Yorks and Wigan Lancs.) and the surname Withernwick.

I have never tried it as I am not doing Austrian research. In 2018 their facebook page was claiming that the site has over 18 million free datasets and over 40,000 registered users.

Inevitably its coverage is patchy, depending on what the volunteers have indexed. I've found some useful info tracing some families who were murdered in the Holocaust.

That is interesting .. I am trying to find out more about a man who came to the USA in 1906 ... with what records I do have saying he was : 'born/from' a German speaking area (my figuring) in Austia Hungary ... or just Hungary. I also have two possible town names ... that are either hard to read ... or can't be found on a modern day map (in the old pre 1917 Austria-Hungary empire area)
