Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Searcing for Sawtell

I think that would be a good move, I'll get on to it soon and see what shows up.

PS. I thought I saw somewhere that it was possible to order a combined (birth, marriage and death) certificate? Is this possible or was I just in a dream world?  ???

Thanks to both of you, those details do seem to fit. It has been suggested to me that the Sawtells may have lived in Wimbledon when Margaret Emma was a child. Does that fit in too I wonder?

BTW I appreciate all and any help I will get as I am on very limited resources due to not being able to work for a long time due to illnesses. Otherwise I would probably have had to pay on some of the sites that I have been to.

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Searcing for Sawtell

Hi, I have now had a bit of time to get a few facts together regarding my dad's side of the family.

Dad - Walter Frank John Lord
Born 4 Nov 1910 in Alexandra Road, Denton, Gravesend
Died between July and August 1969

On his birth certificate it shows his dad as:
William Frank Lord.  Corporal Royal Marines.

His mum as:
Margaret Emma Lord (formerly Sawtell or Sawfell)?

Reg District - Strood
Sub-district - Northfleet.

Margaret Emma Lord died Gravesend 10 Oct 1958 aged 85.
William Frank Lord died Gravesend 18 May 1964 aged 85.

Need a few pointers of help working back from here please.

Hi again, thanks for all the greetings and offers of help and advice. I feel at home already  8)

jeanharris  Hi and welcome.

I am researching family from Kent too,so maybe I can help.
Thanks I will bear that in mind when I get working on it next week probably.

domino  I'm afraid there haven't been many updates of late but as always I'm hoping to add some things, the hospital page for example need an urgent update now that it is all finished.

Jamaine  Thanks for noticing the coding, it was quite a task as it was all hand coded and self tought. No WYSIWYG used here apart from using an editor that displayed different parts of the code in different colours while writing it. And the code that YOU see when viewing it is nothing like the code that is loaded at first  ;D  If I say, php includes, server side etc you may know what I mean.

Anyway that's totally of topic so I'll stop there. If anyone is interested how I did it then don't worry about asking me.

Just a quick  , Just joined and doing a bit of research on my own family tree.

The thing that confuses me the most is that one day I can find info and the next I can't, something to do with my age no doubt. I still haven't got used to all the possible ways of finding it either. It seems that either I don't really understand the system or I'm just thick.

Anyway bye for now, I'll be back soon no doubt with a few questions.
