Gloucestershire Completed Lookup Requests / Re: 1851 Census Lookup Please - GALE
« on: Thursday 20 August 09 12:21 BST (UK)  »
Hi Linda and Joburg
Thank you for your replies and help  :)

No wonder I couldn't find them in the searches, I was hitting my head against the brickwall trying to think of where they might've gone.

Linda, I didn't have a reference for the 1851 entry as GenesR only listed the names, birth year, birth place and location in 1851. Unfortunately the family moved to Australia in 1860 so the next census was of no help. I did have the marriage and birth but thank you anyway as it helped confirm I had the right ones.

Joburg you have made my day, thank you ;D that is the right family.
Is it possible to have the folio and page number as well? Thank you anyway.

Kind regards
Annette

Hello

I am trying to find on the 1851 Census, Francis Peter GALE (b. 1824 Cornwall) his wife Jane Gale (b. 1824 Devon) and their daughter Susan Jane Hamlyn Gale (b. 1850 Gloucestershire).

Francis Peter GALE is listed as Peter GALE in the 1841 Bristol census, and his occupation is printer.

I might have found a lead on Genes Reunited 1851 Census search where Francis GALE is possibly listed as Frederick GALE, but I can’t view the image.

Gale   Frederick   1825    St Columba    Bristol, St Paul
Gale   Jane   1826    Morton Hampstead    Bristol, St Paul
Gale   Susan J H   1851    Bristol St Philips    Bristol, St Paul

I have tried all possibilities in searching Ancestry and Find My Past but nothing comes up. Any ideas?

Thanks

Australia Lookups completed / Re: Can anyone read the second name
« on: Wednesday 17 September 08 11:53 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

This written piece was in an old photo album from my g grandmother in which she identified photos of which the majority are missing, including this one.
I thought it did look like de Purks/ Parks.  :-\
The album contained only photos of family and I have not come across anyone in the family with this name or anything similar to it. Looks like it'll have to remain a mystery as to who this person was.

Thanks for all your efforts and replies.
Kind Regards
Annette

Hello all

Thank you Mariac your reply fully answered the query. The link you gave was also very helpful.

I only received the birth cert on Monday and am still waiting for the death cert. for this particular person so it didn't occur to me that it was the year of death.

Thank you also Tristiw as your reply gave me a different aspect.

Kind Regards to all and Thank you once again
Annette :)

Hi Sue and Boydi

Thanks for your replies. I've just added the whole cert plus the bit on the back of the certificate. I appreciate all your help.

TIA
