Well I am flabbergasted, to my 72 yr.old head, I have done quite a lot of searching, for family first time in the U.S. I am so thankful to all who have answered so far and wish to express my deep appreciation for your sterling efforts, more especially so quickly.

Many thanks to all present and future contributors.

Not only do I now have the info provided so kindly by you i have viewed the old link a lot to digest. this is just a quick thank you before I pop off to work. Indeed I think now I see it, it all fits, it will indeed have been the William you suggested.

Thank you so much,

Hi folks,
Have just been researching some Mitchell children (orphans) from Aberdeenshire who were sent to Quarriers. a mention was made of the above name Wm. Mitchell, Clothier from Kirkintilloch. Was wondering the best way to trace this family. the date was 1892 ish. Thanks for reading.

Hi folks,

Wondered if someone could point me in the right direction. My estranged brother was found dead on 19th. Mar 1997. Apparently there was an appeal in a Glasgow newspaper, perhaps more than one. There was a picture I am informed of him. I wondered how I could discover which paper.
Thanks for time taken to read.
