Another possibility is McAvetty.
He doesn't cross the 't's, see Phthisis in cause of death, and Stokes in the next record.

If you look on the next line, it clearly says 'Domestic Duties'.
You can see very easily here that this writer doesn't cross his 't's as you would normally across the upstroke, but that that the 'cross bar' follows a little way ahead.
The same thing has happened on the first word of the occupation above, so the second letter is the uncrossed 't'. Making it 'store'.
That's why it's always helpful to have some more writing around the word or words that are causing a problem, so that you can see how that particular person formed their letters.

Yes, I agree. Also the way he forms the lowercase 'L' has a definite loop so definitely not slate, but that is what I first read it as. Sorry for the distraction.

I also transcribed for FreeBMD many moons ago, and it was the early handwritten records.
The BMD indexes are GRO search aids to finding a certificate, and if there is some doubt about anything then multiple entries will result, and will cover all possibilities.
As your entries have the same page number then there must have been something unclear about the registration district name in the quarterly return when compiling the alphabetical index.

Oh how I yearn for those pre-digital days to return  ::)
