Susannah Shepherd married William Catlin, of Yardley, in Bennington on 3 June 1793.  Marriage cert says she is a minor and "a pauper and without father or mother - inhabitant of Bennington", she married with the consent of Robert Gaunt, overseer of Bennington.  There also appears to have been a £200 surety given John Hodgson - the vicar??   Anyway, I cannot find who her parents are although other researchers offer the baptism record on 26 Sep 1775 at St Ippollitis which I know is near Bennington.  There is also another possibility of a baptism at Flamstead on 22 Nov 1778 or one at St Andrew Middlesex on 24 Dec 1775 - seems a bit more unlikely though.    Any help or suggestions gratefully received.         Happy Christmas to you all!!   :-*

Isaac Woolmore born 1789 in Bocking parents probably Abraham and Mildred.   Isaac had a daughter Sarah Ann bn 1819 Shoebury and possibly at least two sons Edwin bn 1822 and Isaac bn 1816 both also born Shoebury, but I can't find a marriage, although mother of Edwin and Isaac is "Mary" according to IGS.  I would be grateful for a parish lookup.

Hi Vic,
Thank you so much for your prompt post - this is the kind of reply one dreams of, so many details!!  There is certainly a John Page living in WP on the 1841 an 1851 census, 20 years Charlotte's junior though and he has his own wife and 4 kids! I can't find Charlotte on the 1861, but can't find a conclusive death either, although by 1861 she would be about 70+.   BTW - we were in Brisbane 25 Feb for four days visiting rellies on our way home from NZ - it poured down the whole time.  I think my family have been lying for 40 years about Brisbane being the Sunshine State!!!    Thank you so much again, best wishes,  Julie Hankin

Can anyone help with records for Weston Patrick?  I'm looking for Harriet Stroud - LDS says bap 20 March 1825, parents Charlotte Stroud and John Page.  I cannot find any other birth record for her.  Her mother seems to be Charlotte but is already a widow by 1841.  Harriet has siblings Thomas bn 1817 Henry bn 1840?? and possibly George bn 1814 also in WP.  Mother Charlotte is bn about 1786 in Ellisfield, Hants according to 1851 census.  Any help appreciated.   Thanks

London and Middlesex / photos of Tottenham area please
« on: Saturday 06 November 10 08:49 GMT (UK)  »
I am preparing a family history book for my Dad.  His recent ancestors mainly came from the Tottenham area.  I would like to illustrate with photos of houses they lived in a churches they married in.  Can anyone help by taking a few photos of said houses and churches for me.  I have checked Google Earth and all appear to still exist (they are mainly from 1901 and 1911 census era).  I live in Dorset so it's not so easy.
If anyone is willing and has a spare couple of hours please PM me for details.  I have also checked A-Z and most are within walking distance of each other.
Thanks,

Julie

Yorkshire (North Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: Brignall parish records

Thanks for your efforts Trish,
I obviously missed that one on IGI!
Annie (as she has been called) was the second wife of Henry James Clarke and they married on 23 April 1859 at the parish church Hornsey, Middlesex.  It is on this cert that her father is a station master.
With this extra info I have checked the census, this family certainly looks favourite.  Annie is a long way from home on her marriage - I wonder what prompted that move south - her marriage cert does not give her an occupation.

best wishes Julie
