My gtgtgtgrandmother was economical about her exact age on several census, they mostly differ.
1851= 28
1861=36
1871=47
1881=57
She married in 1849 = "of full age"
She died 1887 aged 59.
So her birthdate, according to herself and others varies between 1822/3 to 1828.
I have never been able to pinpoint a birth for her but I have just found a baptism for someone of the same name and place with the same fathers name and his occupation also the same.
It is a adult baptism at a noncomformist chapel in 1837,, BUT,,it gives her birth date as 1820.
Also baptised are two brothers, one of whom also fits what I know of her and him.
The question is, just how untruthfull was she about her age.
