Hi, right where do I start!
1891 Nottingham, St Mary Census, Sch 60, 7 Orange Street
Louisa Selby, Widow, 39, washerwoman, born Wymeswold
Mary Selby, daug, 14, nursemaid, born nott
Annie Selby, daug, 10, Scholar, born nott
Peggy Selby, daug, 8, scholar, born nott
Florrie Selby, daug, 6, scholar, born nott
1881 Nottingham, St Mary Census, Sch 12, 12 St John's Cottages
William Selby, head, married, 41 years, foreman (midland railway), born Nott
Louisa Selby, wife, 30, born Wymeswold
Mary L Selby, daug, 4, scholar, born nott
Hannah G Selby, daug, 6mnths
I believe William Selby married Louisa Brooks on 26 August 1873 at Wymeswold Church, he was 32 and she was 23.
Louisa Selby remarried after William died, Charles Boyer 1894 (J/F/M Barrow S, 7a 243) on 1901 Swithland Census, sch 171.
I believe Florrie Selby is my Great Grandma, but is listed either as Flora, Florence or Florrie. The only thing of hers we have is a school certificate from St Saviours, Nottingham, stating that 'Florrie Selby was examined by F J Green HM Inspector and passed in the 1st standard on April 26th 1892' - we don't know what this was for.
I also have a copy of Florence Selby's wedding certificate :
Second April 1907 James Fermer Fletcher & Florence Selby, 22 years, Domestic Servant, father William Selby (deceased) Goods Manager on Midland Railways.
I believe she is listed on the 1901 Woodhouse Eaves census as a domestic servant.
Does any of this mean anything to you?
I look forward to hearing from you.
