Hi,
I couldn't find James in Lewisham in 1841, but here is a possible entry for Thomas:
ref HO107 484-09 folio 7 page 5: Willow Walk (near Rushey Green), Lewisham
Thomas Yeandsley (as enumerated) age 40 ag lab
Elizabeth do age 35
James do age 15
Eliza do age 13
Joseph do age 9
John do age 1
(John shown as born in county, the rest not born in county)

Some of these names and ages tally with the details that you've posted for the children shown for James in 1851, it could be that they were actually Thomas' family.
Hope this helps,
xx Carol

Hi davidda16,
'Born in county' means that they were born in the county in which they were living at the time the census was taken. Lewisham was still regarded at Kent in 1841, so it just means that John was born in Kent.
Hope that helps,
xx Carol
