Hannah - Caistor c. 1796
« on: Sunday 30 October 05 23:00 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I am looking for the birth record of William Hannah, who I believe was born somewhere near Caistor in about 1796. He became William Hannath in around 1821-1823. He married Frances Craft in 1819 in Caistor. I have been unable to trace his parents or siblings.

Would appreciate any help

Many thanks

If the IGI is to be believed, HANNAH appears to be very much a Scottish surname, so to find one in Lincs around that time probably shouldn't be ignored ... there is

William HANNAH bap 24 JUN 1797  at Redbourne, son of Matthew and Rebekah

Redbourne is about 8 miles from Caistor.

Matthew and his wife appear to have had four children in Redbourne 1797-1802 and a further two in Lincoln shortly afterwards.
