Thanks Ger
I was just wondering if it could be my Granddad - James Doherty but he should be younger.
It may be his father though but my Dad thought his grandfather's name was William! He also thought his grandmother's name was Katherine McLaughlin.  So if he got the grandfather's name wrong it may be them. It follows that they could have called their son James.
They were possibly in the area as my Dad was born in Strabane.
Just rambling ... sorry
Thanks again
Jackie

Hello, I was wondering what Information you had on Bernard Mcmenamin. My great grandfather was from Strabane Ireland before he moved over to the states and wondered if hopefully this was him. I have figured out so far that he was born around 1835. Anything at all would be great! Thanks

The 1901 and 1911 census are now both online so you can search them yourself-
