SINCLAIR Newcastle
« on: Thursday 03 November 05 23:21 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I'd love to speak to any descendants of the SINCLAIR family, originally from Kirkwall, Orkney.
Robert Sinclair 1836 married Isabella Knox 1837 at Newcastle Reg Office in 1857.

Two sons, Robert Knox Sinclair and John Sinclair, both had tobacco companies in Newcastle.
The Robert Sinclair Tobacco Co building still stands, although it's expensive apartments now.

I'm up to date with the family as far as 1901 census, but would love to know where they ended up today.
My email address is not working sorry
BOLTON family, any and all BOLTONs from Northumberland & Durham. Special interest in Tynemouth & North Shields BOLTONs

census information are crown copyright

Hi, great to hear from you.  The information you have matches mine,  I have a few death dates

James 14.12.1917
Robert 1922
Margaret 1956
Alice 1923
Isabella (1880 - 1935)

I have Roberts paternal line to 1799.  Can you update me on any of his (Robert 1836 - 1890) children listed in your post? or the maternal line?

Hamish

Great - Will do some research and ask my mother to see if she can throw any light on Selwood House.  I am not aware of any relatives in Haydon Bridge, but again will look to see what I can find.  Like you I am 4 generations down the line.

Hi I see you have got back to 1799 with your paternal tree line on the side of Robert.  I am trying to see if this line is the brother of John Sinclair, my great, great grandfather. Would you be willing to share this information?
