Hi, I noticed on your surname list a Gower I am following up on a link to my GGGrandfather who married an Ann Green nee Gowers from around the Chelmsford area approximately in the early 1800s.

I have little info on them at the moment but will be posting more soon.

Hi,

The Hasler family were millers in Great Dunmow at one time.  Until roughly thirty years ago the mill still stood next to the site of the railway station (both are now demolished).  The local council built some sheltered housing for the elderly on the site and called it Alan Hasler House.

My grandmother lived there until her death some fifteen years ago, having been a Great Dunmow resident since before WW2.

Hello, I am also interested in the Playle family (Essex). I would be happy to share whatever information I have. Jillian

Hi - I knew an Eileen Playle from Hockley in Essex - her best friend then was Moira Caldwell, both lived in the same street - any connection?
