Looking for WWI death at sea
« on: Sunday 06 November 05 11:16 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I have a Thomas Peel born: 1881 at St. Michael's South Shields who married Dorothy Baines Andrews (1880 Ryhope) in 1903.

On the rear of a family photograph we have found a note that Thomas did at sea on 7 December 1917.

Does anyone have any ideas about how I could track down this WWI death?  I believe that Thomas may have been a member of the Royal Navy or Royal Marines however, a search at PRO.gov.uk turned up inconclusive.

Many thanks
Kirsten
