my Name is Daniel Willett. I am a German living in Germany.
We can trace the 'Willett' branch of our family tree back into the 18th century to a merchant with the name ‘Daniel Willett’. It is how I got my first name. He was my Grand-Grand-Grand-Grand-Grandfather. Daniel was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on the 24.7.1724 and probably he had English nationality. He mainly lived and worked in Stettin (now Polish Szezecin), where he ran a trading house. He died on 13.3.1781.
We have strong evidence that his father was Johann Martin Willett and that he was a trader in London.
It is with this Daniel Willett (and probably Johann Martin Willett) where our Willett family tree currently ends (i.e. begins). I’d very much appreciate any help to extend it…
