Hi,
I found your family on the 1871 census in Henfynyw, Cardiganshire. (Henfynyw covers the Aberayron/Aberaeron area)
At 'Penshywfach' (Source: RG10/5556; Folio: 55, Pg: 12)
Evan Peregrine, head, Married, 58, shoemaker, b: Aberayron
Margaret Peregrine, wife, 59, b: Henfynyw
Morgan, son, 22, carpenter, b: Henfynyw
Evan, son, 20, mason, b: Henfynyw
On the 1861 census the family is still living at 'Penshywfach'. Strangely, the children are recorded with the surname 'Davies'. (Source: RG9/4192; Folio: 54; Pg: 3)
Evan Peregrine, head, Married, 48, shoemaker, b: Henfynyw
Margaret Peregrine, wife, 49, b: Henfynyw
David Davies, son, 23, b: Henfynyw
Mary Davies, dau, 16, b: Henfynyw
Margaret Davies, dau, 12, b: Henfynyw
Evan Davies, son, 10, b: Henfynyw
I checked the FreeBMD site and bound the following (all in Aberayron):
Morgan Peregrine b: 1846, d: 1848
Morgan Peregrine b: 1849
Mary Peregrine b: 1844
The IGI has a marriage for Evan Peregrine to Margaret Price in 1837 in Henfynyw and the FreeBMD supports this, but in that source the marriage was registered at Aberayron.
The IGI also has Evan Peregrine b: 1813, Cilie Ayron, Aberayron, to parents David and Sarah. Evan was c: 3 Jan 1813 Upper Henfynyn. I couldn't identify any other children born to this couple. The same source gives their marriage as 1812, Zipper, Henfynyw. There was no maiden name for Sarah.
The FreeBMD site also has for Aberayron:
Sarah Peregrine d: 1855, no age given
Evan Peregrine d: 1879, aged 67
Margaret Peregrine d: 1882, aged 70
Sarah Peregrine d: 1898, aged 20 (perhaps you know where she fits in)
There was also a marriage for Morgan Davies Peregrine in 1871 (Aberayron), so it appears 'Davies' is one of the given names . . . I wonder if it could be Sarah's maiden name or Margaret Price's mother's name?
I will check the 1851 census again . . .
Regards,
Sharyn
