Where is Wanstead in relation to Ilford?

Hi all,
I have a nephew living in Wanstead at the moment, and ancestors who were last known to be in Ilford on the 1901 census, and wondered if my nephew was close enough to Ilford to do some family tree digging for me.
I live in NZ so dont know the distances between places.

Hi Sheldon, Wanstead is not very far away from Ilford, about 20 mins by car. He could also get the train to Ilford I think its only about 2 stops away.
