Marriage of Henry Bushnell in Mortimer
« on: Monday 07 November 05 09:51 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone give me any details on a marriage between Henry Bushnell (b abt 1803 Crondall, Hampshire) and an Eliza Unknown (b abt 1809 Mortimer).  It would have been about 1831 in Mortimer as their first child, Mary, was born in abt 1833 in Mortimer.

HI Doug

I'm fairly new to Rootschat and have been browsing and came across the fact that you are researching Bushnell in Berkshire.  So am I!

My 3x great grandfather James, was born (I think) in 1816.  According to which census you look at this date varies and also place of birth - Reading, Whitchurch(Oxon), but I believe he may have been born in Thatcham (lots of Bushnells there) and I have a christening there on 31.1.1816, parents were William and Sarah.

This James married Ann someone and they had 9 children.  I have details of all this and coming forward in time, but I'm definitely stuck with James.

Does anything here ring any bells with you?

Hi Christine,

Thanks for your message.  Idon't think there is a connection.  My Bushnells were all from the Mortimer area and I don't have a James.

Best wishes,

Douglas

Thanks Douglas

I'm beginning to think that perhaps James wasn't my chap's first name, which is no help at all really!

I'll keep searching - he must be out there somewhere.
