You can order copies of the service records of Australian servicemen. Navy records are free (apparently because they are not very comprehensive).

I can't easily find him in the archives search, but the site is slow at the moment - you might like to try. If you can't find him email the naa - they are very helpful.

Hi Trish,

I am very sorry it has taken so long to get back to you on this but I forgot I had posted it.

I have already emailed about his service record and been waiting some 3 weeks now.

I have his death certificate which caused great laughter as he died of Syphilis in Yarmouth and was buried in a war grave in Barnstaple where his family were.

Glad you found the information one way or another. The NA say about 4 weeks for delivery (mine seem to have taken just a few days less) so you shouldn't have long to wait
