Thank you very much. By any chance do you have the marriages for Barmby Moor? It would be nice to know Hannah's surname. I imagine a marriage would be quite soon before Grace's birth if there are no earlier children there [unless of course they moved there from somewhere else!]

I assume the ones from Bradfield are not yours - there were other children with these prents but they could be another Joseph and Hannah.

If Joseph and Hannah married in Yorkshire, here is one potential marriage - not necessarily them, but a possibility.  Not sure of the geography of Yorkshire and how far away this is from Barmby.

This date would also fit well with Grace's birth....
If they married outside of Yorkshire, there are LOADS of Joseph Kays who married a Hannah!!!

Thank you very much for that information especially the marriage of Margaret - it may help pin the family down if I can get further back. The IGI isn't very helpful on births for them so maybe they were from elsewhere - my Yorkshire geography knowledge is not that great.

Just a little help with Yorkshire geography. Barmby Moor (often called Barmby) is approx 3 miles west of Pocklington.
Thornton is approx 6 miles south west of Pocklington.
