Hi

according to Genuki, Abernant was in the Carmarthen district.

As I have her birth and marriage certificates and records from the 1881 and 1901 censuses, I'd like the earlier censuses and the 1891, if possible, but she was married then and I think I've already posted a request for that look-up (no response).
If there were any parish records you could suggest worth looking at, I'd be grateful for advice. Her parents- William Jones and Mary Davies aren't easy to pin down, for obvious reasons! I've no idea whether she had siblings, so finding the family in the censuses would really help.

With names like that, it won't be easy.

Can you post the exact details of what you do have, not fogetting the copyright notice! The we'll see what we can sort out.

If you already have her birth cert, can you post the address as well, that will help with earlier census.

Anna/Hannah's birth certificate just gives place of birth as "Abernant, Llandilofawr" so I'm wondering if that was actually a house name, as the similar entry on her husband's birth cert. is.
Her father was a carpenter, according to the certificates (birth and marriage). He signed with a mark.
There was a "David Jones" as one of the witnesses to the marriage (in 1864) which is probably her brother.
That's all I have!

I think Hannah was probably a servant to a Perkins family whose head was a colliery owner living at Garnant House in Bettws.

Hannah Jones - serv - 20 - house servant - Llandilo

Thank you again, David. No way of knowing if this is the right one, but likely, as you say. Just have to find her, when married, in 1871 now- (see further posting under William Evans)
