surname O'CALLAGHAN:
« on: Wednesday 01 September 04 16:48 BST (UK) »
Hi!
This morning I recieved my Great Grandmother's birth certificate, and I was thrilled with her mother's maiden name: O'Callaghan ("Oh-Calahaan"). However, prior to discovering this I knew that the mother was of Irish decent. Does anybody have any insigiht into this surname? Any at all?

In specific, I am looking for anybody who has connections to, or info regarding:
Mary Ellen O'Callaghan b. circa 1877 to Irish parents. She was born in either Ireland or India.

Thanks!
:)

ryan,

you might have more luck by just putting  'O'Callaghan surname' into Google - this should bring up the info on Irish Origins - also a few other sites.

Good Luck

I now have Mary Ellen O'Callaghan's marriage certificate from Ireland, to William John Munson (1895 in Cork City). Her father was named Michael O'Callaghan, a Horse Clipper by trade.
