Isabella and John McCourt

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help tracing Isabella and John McCourt in the US.

They married in Durham in 1862, their son Thomas was born in the USA, then Isabella and Thomas returned to the UK where Isabella married Featherstone Bainbridge in 1868.

What happened to John McCourt?  I assume he died?  Can anyone find out where in the USA they went, when John died and when Thomas was born?

Hi ,curious to know if  a Emmerson Bainbridge is connected to your Featherstone Bainbridge.My gt gt grandmother,Phoebe Jane McAllum,(maiden name Fenwick) parents  were William and Ann Fenwick (maiden name Bainbridge).One of Phoebes daughters Lucy,(later to be known as Barbara Lucy)was living with her cousin Emmerson Bainbridge before her marriage to Albert Bingham of Shefield.Would be keen to know if there is a connection and be able to tie up some loose ends on the family tree.Cheers,gereon.

Hi Gereon,

I've not found an Emmerson Bainbridge in my research as yet, all my Bainbridges were from in or around Durham, later moving south to Middlesbrough.  I will let you know if I find an Emmerson!

That's great information, obviously Isabella infant and John McCourt died in the USA and Isabella returned home with Thomas.  How sad.
