1851 census please - Cranfield
« on: Friday 25 November 05 01:46 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
If possible, an 1851 lookup please.

John Cranfield
Mary Ann, b 1833

I think they were in Fordham.
Their marriage was reg'd in Lexden 1850.

He died and she had remarried by 1861.
Thanks for any help,
Charlotte

No suitable couple found, 1851.

Trying to follow your logic:

Assume this is the marriage

Cranfield, John      1850  September  Marriages   Lexden
Warren, Mary Anne    1850  September  Marriages   Lexden   Vol 12  p199

Is this the happy couple?

Tamer Johnson, lodger, mar, 24, Tailoress, b. Copford

and

1861 Stanway, Essex   RG9 1103 104 p8

Stanway Street
Mary Ann Cranfield, head, mar, 39, Seamstress, b. Stanway

[age has been transcribed as 30.  Looks like 39 to me]

< He died and she had remarried by 1861 >

Thank you kindly for all of your work.

We just got the Warren name from someone who is researching the same family.
However, we're back to thinking Cranfield is her maiden name!
The final family you mentioned fits with all of what we had before, plus gives us more info yet.

Thanks very much for helping to sort this out!
