Brentwood Parish Registers - TODD
« on: Friday 25 November 05 19:13 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Can anybody look up an Edward Todd? He was born in Brentwood. I'm not sure which parish that would come under. Born in 1838. I don't know if he had any siblings or the names of his mother or father.

I had a look at the parish register at Essx Record Office ref: Brentwood, Saint Thomas D/P 362/1/4 fiche 1 of 4 page 1 (Aug1835) to page 46 (July 1842). I saw no TODDs baptised.
What is the source of your information about his birthplace?

Hi

Thanks for looking. On all the census' he was born in Brentwood, Essex so naturally I took it to mean that he was born in Brentwood. Thank You, though.

In 1851 he was born in 1836
In 1861 he was born in 1837
In 1871 he was born in 1836
In 1881 he was born in 1838
In 1891 he was born in 1838

Hallo, The reason I asked about your knowledge of his birthplace was because Brentwood was, geographically, in the centre of a cluster of other parishes. Until the railway came in about 1850s it was relatively unimportant compared to the other parishes whereas today the position is completely reversed. Those other parishes are -off the top of my head- South Weald, Warley (Little and Great), Shenfield, Hutton, Navestock, Kelvedon Hatch and quite a few more. Maybe you could start a new thread for each those (say one at a time ) and see how it goes. Good luck
