Hi there Lorrimer,

What do you need to know about this family?
I live in Ballynahinch .
Sounds like they all moved to Cumberland.

Thank you for your reply.

I have the McCauley family line back to 1798 in Ballynahinch.  James McCauley born 1798 I believe was a publican in the square and I know he married Catherine Owens in the 1820's.  I was hoping to find anyone else looking for the same family, that I could share information with.

Regards Louise

Hi Frank

As far as I am aware the local church was burned down in the uprising of 1798 and the registers with it, so my information can only start from 1820. So I will list my first line, in case anything links to you.
James McCauley married Catherine Owens.
Dennis McCauley born 1830 married Isabella Trimble.
John McCauley  born 1834 married Catherine Carolen.
Patrick Mc Cauley born 1842 and Samuel McCauley born 1844. Catherine McCauley married Hugh O'Grady 1849.
Regards
Louise

The following information comes from a post on another website that was made by Owen Davey, and I believe that it pertains to the family that you are researching:

copyright information removed- please use link below to see the information

I would imagine that these McAuleys were all connected somehow to your James and his wife Catherine.

Hi, Sarah,
Thanks for editing my post and for trying.  I would imagine that Lorimer will at some point do a
google search and be able to find the information either here or on the other website.  With many thanks to you and the other members of Rootschat...Paul
