Thomas of Southend
« on: Tuesday 29 November 05 22:39 GMT (UK) »
Looking for any information regarding James Thomas born 1808 in  Canewdon Essex  and Maria Markwell born around the same time in Rochford Essex  I am trying to trace the marriage and their parents names.  Their first child I have is Henry born 1833 in southend.
I have them on the 1851 forward census not on the 1841.
Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Cp
Have you access to look up Sarah Markwell on the 1841 census as if she has a husband living with her I could get back another generation on the Maria Markwells line.
thanks for your help

You will need to find the marriage in the Parish Registers.

Sarah is b. c 1766    so married c 1785 or later.

Maria is b.  c 1808   probably not first child.

Marriage is probably Great Wakering - Prittlewell - Southend, about 1790.

You can request a lookup, but it is quite a task.

Good Luck!   CP
