1851 1861 census Isaac Hustleby
« on: Tuesday 06 December 05 14:57 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for census information on a family of Hustleby in Leicester in 1851 and 1861.

Isaac Hustleby married in Leicester in 1844 and  a Frederick Hustleby died in Leicester in 1857 aged 24.

The name is not common and I think they are related to Husselby families in Coventry or Stourbridge.

I would be grateful for any records that may exist.

Many thanks

Regards

Graham

36 years - same as Mike's entry

Goodness knows where Issac is - does say he was a 'traveller' on that marriage entry. Can't see him on 1861 either. Would be nice if you could get him on 1841 with parents.

Many thanks Mike and Tricia.  You have given me quite a lot to consider.

Looks as if all are related. The Redcross address seems to crop up a lot. By age it is possible that Isaac, Daniel, John and Frederick are brothers and possibly sons of John and Margaret. I think that John married Margaret Goode at St Margarets Leicester in 1807 and they had other children - Ann 1807, Elizabeth 1809, Mary 1811.

Couple of questions Mike.

FWK means factory worker?

What does SMGT mean?

Presume that the Welford Road numerals are grave positions?

Coroners Warrant I presume means that there was an inquest into the deaths?

Regards

Hi Graham

FWK means Frame Work Knitter.

SMGT means the St Margarets area of Leicester.  If you don't know Leicester it is quite near the city centre, alot of terraced housing and slums were there up until the 1940/50s.

Hope this helps
