Hi,
I am looking for my great great grandfather. the very elusive Humphrey JONES.
I was able to locate him on the 1861 Census as follows:

1861 CENSUS
2 David Row, Michaelston Lower
Humphrey Jones Head 33 yrs occ: Copperman Born: Anglesey
Margaret Jones Wife 26 yrs Born: Camrose, Pembrokeshire
William Jones Son 4 yrs Born: Michaelston-super-Avon

Any sign of him in 1851 would be appreciated.

Hi Whoosh,

Boy, is he ever hard to find.  It even took me ages to check in 1861 for any further clues.  How Fanpber = Humphrey I'll never know!!!!

I had no luck in finding Humphrey in 1851 or finding the family in 1871.

Sorry, Colin

Hi Colin,

I do not undestand what you mean by Fanpber.
Is that how he is listed in the 1861 Census?
1871 is to late, they immigrated to South AUstralia in 1862-sorry, should have said that in my original posting.
Cheers,
Darren

Hi Darren, there are only two Humphrey Jones listed in the 1851 census of Wales who were born in Anglesey. One is the head of the household with his wife Jane and their child. The other is a lodger in the house of the Abell family. Both lived in Holyhead. If you want the info on both of them let me know. All the best, Kate.

Hi Darren,

Sorry, I didn't explain myself.  Yes, that is how ancestry.com had him indexed.

Cheers, Colin
