Hi Allan

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you made any progress,  or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

I dont have any more info on Joseph Roy and Christina White and its become a total dead end.

His son William Roy was born around 1794 in Ireland and died 6 May 1819 at Quay Street, Saltcoats Scoland and he was married to Margaret Wyllie.

Regards
Allan Roy

Hello Allan

Irish Ancestors Surname Search shows the distribution of the Roy families in Ireland at the time of Griffith's Vaulation which took place between 1848-64 ... Antrim: 8, Belfast city: 5,  Down: 21 and Louth: 6 there were one or two families in a few other counties.

What denomination were the Roy and White families? Were they members of the Catholic faith, the Established Church (Anglicans or Church of Ireland), Methodists or   Presbyterians?

You'll have to rely on Church records as civil registration in Ireland was not introduced until 1864. Non Catholic marriages were registered from 1845 onwards. When registration for BDMS started in 1864 some people didn't bother with the registration for a few years after that date. Keep your fingers crossed that church records still exist.
