Hmmm - bit of an odd one this

In 1841

District = Swansea
P: 1424/10, F: 007, S: 028

Address =“Gopa Ucha”

Elizabeth Clement, 75, Independent, N

No trace of her in 1851 BUT

District = Glynllwchwr Parcel
P: 2465, F: 167, S: 103

Address = “Tal-Y-Cynllwyn”

Jane Gregory, 46, Head, Farmer of 80 Acres emp 1 Lab,
Elizabeth Gregory, 90 , Mother, retired farmer, B. Llanarthney, Carmarthenshire
Elizabeth Gregory, 18
David Gregory, 16
Henry Gregory, 14
Edward Gregory, 10
Mary Griffith, 16, Servant
Thomas Hughes, 17, Servant
Jane Gregory, 16, Servant

[All born Llandilotalybont, GLA except highlighted]

Has Elizabeth been mistranscribed as being surname Gregory?? Checked and there is an Elizabeth Gregory Farmer in 1841 but she is listed as being 70 in 1841 - 10 years difference??

FYI - 2 doors away from Elizabeth in 1841 are this family - possibly related?

District = Swansea

P:1424/10, F:006, S:026

Address = “Bolgoed”

John Clement, 45, Farmer, Y
Hannah Clement, 40, N
John Clement, 15, N
Anne Clement, 12, Y
Edward Clement, 9 Y

In 1851 this family have moved to Carmarthen - maybe why Elizabeth moved in with her "daughter" Jane??
Davies, Edwards, Evans, Griffiths, Hughes, James, Jones, Morgan, Nicholas, Powell, Prytherch, Rees, Williams in Glamorgan, Brecon, PEM, CMN & MGY

Thanks Nigel.
Re 1851c
Not sure about Elizabeth 'Gregory' and daughter Jane as I have no information to support this finding. Bit of mystery where she is in 1851.
Re 1841c
Great find. The Clements (John, Hannah etc) are related to Elizabeth. John is a son of Elizabeth and listed are his wife and three children. I had not expected to find him in this location so a surprise bonus.
So it would suggest the Elizabeth Clement you found is correct. As you listed only her details, can I assume she was living alone at that address??
Thanks,Tim
