Look uo request please
« on: Thursday 09 September 04 23:41 BST (UK) »
I would be very grateful if someone would look up the following family for me I seem to have hit a wall.
Staffordshire RG09/2057 ED18 1861 Group No:33439 Palmer  Sarah, Ellen, Mary A, Sarah, Edward and Benjamin.
the census page I found just says 76 Road ?? for the address.
I would also like go back to 1851/1841 for the family if possible.
many thanks
Dudley, Brierley Hill, Round Oak, Netherton.
Williams, Skidmore, Palmer, Ward.
Oldbury, Smethwick, West Bromwich.
Griffiths, Dyson, Hughes, Cockbill

Hi. Don't think that this is much help but here goes:

The census says "No of Schedule:76; Road street etc: Road"

The enumerator has entered Road a lot! In between those entries it says either Stafford Street or Old Mill Street and Cross Street.

The blurb at the start of Ecc Dis 18 goes:

Part of the Parish of Dudley called Old Mill Street (both sides) Hill Street (both sides) and houses at the back of Five Ways something something Cross Street (both sides) and terminating at the house next Mrs Leek's (?) on one side and on the other by property belonging to Mr William Harperson the Gardens and also of  apassage called Gads Lane leading out of Cross Street into Wolverhampton Street and all Courts and Alleys

So what he was calling "Road" is anybody's guess ;D
Rose (Black Country),Downs (Black Country),Wolloxall (any and all),Bark (Derbyshire),Wright (Derbyshire),Marsden (Derbyshire), Wallace (Black Country)
