OVERLAND, All
« on: Friday 09 January 04 13:27 GMT (UK) »
I have been doing a One Name Study on the name Overland. I have five Overland Tree's and hope eventually to link two of them soon. My website is at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/s.walker10/ with my Overland information on.

Would you happen to have an Edward Overland marrying a Matilda Burgin in 1861?  If so - is he the Edward Overland that died in 1865?  I suspect that Matilda remarried Alfred James Fearn in 1866.  If any of this is something you have - would love to know.....  Would help break a brick wall.

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom
Is this marriage in Sheffield District? I have some Overlands in a tree in this district but haven't got the Edward you have.  I have got in the GRO indexes an Edward who died in 1865 Sheffield District but it doesn't give his age so I am not sure if it is the same one. Sorry :(
Have you his parents/siblings?

I have him buried in the Thorpe Hesley cemetery in 1865 at the age of 29.  He was born in Norfolk.  I believe he is transcribed on the 1861 census as Edward Crelin.
