« on: Wednesday 28 December 05 06:45 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any information on the following:

Richard Thomas Cross b. 1877
Clara Cross b. 1908
(Robert) George Bramwell Cross b. 1911

They settled in Illinois after 1915.

Any help would be appreciated.

World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918 Record

Name: Richard Thomas Cross
City: Aurora
County: Kane
State: Illinois
Birth Date: 02 Aug 1877
Race: White
Roll: 1452430
DraftBoard: 0

Image not good
He was a bricklayer at CB&Q (Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad)(The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad began operation in the 1840s by running a single passenger lashup over recycled rails from Aurora to Chicago. However, within the next three years, the railroad was able to expand into the true namesake - holding trackage extending through the cities of Chicago, Burlington, Quincy, and Aurora.) and granddaughter was Clara Cross age 11

I think they live at the same address as Robert Templeton Girdwood

QUOTE "I think they live at the same address as Robert Templeton Girdwood"  END QUOTE

Yes thats him!  Robert Templeton Girdwood married Richard Cross' late wife's sister Alice.  After his wife's death in NSW Australia, Richard travelled to Illinois with his 2 children to live with Alice and Robert Girdwood for a few years.

Thank you for finding this information out for me!

Happy New Year!

Wow, I also found Robert T Girdwood and his wife Alice on Ellis Island website and they emigrated twice in 1913 and in 1914.  I know they had quite a bit of money but its surprising how many times they travelled backwards and forwards from the USA to UK.
