1851 census look for William and Mary Ann Train
« on: Friday 30 December 05 04:55 GMT (UK) »
Could SKS look on the 1851 census for the following family. I have found my 3xgrgrandfather Christopher Train on the 1841 census in Dunswell, Yks.  I then checked the parish records and and found the baptism of their daughter Sarah Train and I noticed this couple William and Mary Ann Train with two daughters baptised around the same time. So I am wondering if they could be related to my Christopher Train?  I am having a hard time finding a birth place for Christopher Train as he has a different place on each census year. So I thought if I try tracing the William and Mary Ann Train I may find a clue.  Also Christopher Train's first son is named William Train.

Here is the information I have on William and Mary Ann Train.
The baptism information on the two daughters is as follows:

Mary  Jane  Train   baptised   30 June 1845   Dunswell
Sarah Ann   Train  baptised    3 Jan.    1841   Dunswell.

Thank you for any help and sorry this is so long winded !!

Cheers

Anne

Hi Anne.
If the family that Heather has found for you is the correct one then I think William's birthplace is Woodmansey, which is a couple of miles up the road from Dunswell and the servant's birthplace is Weel, which is just outside of Beverley.

In the 1851 census index the family name has been transcibed as Prinn :(

Hello Bee and Heather B:

Thank you for the replys.  Bee I think you are right about William's birth place being Woodmansey as two of the children born to Christopher and Margaret Train were born in Woodmansey. So I think I may be on to something here.  I am hoping if I can find the birth of William and find his parents maybe I can find the birth place of my Christopher.  He is leading me on a merry chase.

Thanks again

Hello Anne,

Whilst browsing through the MI's for Cottingham (a booklet published by the East Yorkshire FHS) for my own ancestors I came across the following that I thought might interest you.

In affectionate remembrance of ELLEN the beloved wife of CHRISTOPHER TRAIN of Woodmansey who departed this life September 4th 1864 aged 67 years.
"A tender mother in her life, A virtuous and a loving wife, In love she lived in peace she died, Her life was ask'd but God denied"
Also CHRISTOPHER husband of the above who departed this life September 14th 1874 aged 77 years.
"Affection says we loth to part, Nor can we well from tears refrain, But this reflection cheers the heart, We only part to meet again".

These MI's are checked against the Parish Registers and the Parish Register entries are
1864 Sep 7  Ellen Train, Woodmansey aged 69
1874 Sep 16 Christopher Train, Hull late of Dunswell aged 79

Hello Bee:

Happy New Year !!

thank you very much for sending me this information about Christopher and Ellen Train.

This is very interesting. I wonder if these are the parents of my Christopher Train.  I am going to try and follow up on this Christopher and Ellen train.

Thanks again.

Cheers
