I have had a loft clearout and found a rather nice group photograph
of the 24th.Hampshire Battalion,Home Guard 1944 No.5 platoon "A" company

Hi Chris,

lol - it does sound a bit like a silly joke  :)

My Bird was born in B'ham and his parents in Gloucestershire.  My Peckhams come from Gosport (circa 1867).  I'm also trying to find a link to Bird's custard - don't ask me why - oh alright then my M-I-L suggested that there may be a link.
