Does anyone have access to the original image of this?  If so could you check the wife's name?  On later census returns her name is Rose, they were marrid in 1827.

Definitely Sarah.

Probably an enumeration error, as there is a burial of Rose Luff age 69 in St Neots on 8 March 1875.

If she is Rose in subsequent censuses and she is shown as Rose on baptisms of the children then almost definitely an enumeration error.
